The Hop Trail, curated for the Expo by Martin Štross and created under the leadership of the Hop Growers Association of the Czech Republic, with the support and cooperation of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Czech Republic, the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Tokyo, CHMELAŘSTVÍ, cooperative Žatec and Bohemia Hop, a.s., has been part of the Czech pavilion since the first day of the Expo.
Last week, the ribbon was ceremonially cut by Deputy Minister of Agriculture Miroslav Skřivánek, together with the Chairman of the Hop Growers Association Luboš Hejda and Secretary Michal Kovařík, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of CHMELAŘSTVÍ and Bohemia Hop, a.s. Zdeněk Rosa, Josef Patzak from the Hop Research Institute, Veronika Vanišová on behalf of the Embassy and representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Karolína Bartošová and Stanislav Němec.
The hop trail is located throughout the entire corridor that leads visitors to the Czech pavilion from the roof of the pavilion down and introduces visitors to Žatec and the Landscape of Saaz Hops, the history and importance of Czech hops for brewing premium beers, including the long relationship between Czech hop growers and Japanese breweries.
"I chose my "hearts" - photographs that represent our beautiful hop growing region, people and hop craft, which has been passed down from generation to generation for centuries and stands behind the beer brands of truly great domestic and foreign breweries! God bless you!", adds exhibition curator Martin Štross.
