Bohemia Hop, a.s., a subsidiary of CHMELAŘSTVÍ, družstvo Žatec and the largest Czech hop trading company, won 3rd place in the main category of medium‑sized companies in the Exporter of the Year 2025 competition. The award for export growth in 2023–2024 was received on December 15 in the Senate of the Parliament of the Czech Republic by Chairman of the Board Mgr. Zdeněk Rosa.
Bohemia Hop regularly exports Czech hops to more than 40 countries worldwide. Among the largest customers are breweries from Japan, China, USA, Belgium, Vietnam, Brazil, Germany, Italy, and Canada. Thanks to Bohemia Hop, Czech hops processed in Žatec can also be found in Chile, Mexico, and Kenya.
Representatives of Bohemia Hop meet regularly with breweries in all major brewing countries and actively promote Czech hops. Key events of the past year included presentations of Czech hop growing at the Craft Brewers Conference in the USA, Drinktec in Munich, and promotional missions to Vietnam, India, and Kenya.
In 2025, significant activities took place in Japan. Bohemia Hop presented at Beer Expo Tokyo, the largest fair and conference for small breweries, and participated in a major promotion of Czech hops during the Day of Czech Beer, Hops and Malt in June at the Czech Pavilion at Expo Osaka.
More than 1.5 million visitors to the Czech Pavilion at Expo Osaka explored the Czech Hop Trail, featuring photographs and texts highlighting the importance of Czech hops for premium beers and the long‑standing excellent relationship between Japanese breweries and Czech hop growers. The exhibition was prepared by the Czech Hop Growers Union with curator Martin Štross, with financial support from Bohemia Hop, a.s. and CHMELAŘSTVÍ, družstvo Žatec.
