Representatives of Bohemia Hop, a.s. Zdeněk Rosa and Jan Podsedník took part in a business mission of Czech agricultural and food companies in mid-March, which accompanied the Minister of Agriculture Marek Výborný on his visit to Vietnam and the Philippines. The mission included several seminars and business meetings with local companies.
In Vietnam, the Minister opened the international fair "Food and Hotel Vietnam" in Ho Chi Minh City, and in Hanoi, the Minister also visited the HABECO brewery. The second part of the trip took place in the Philippines, where first a trade and business forum organized by the Czech Embassy in Manila and then in Davao took place.
During the trip, there was also the opportunity to visit several craft breweries, and in Davao also the largest banana grower.
The hop production in the Czech Republic in 2023 crop year reached 6.997 tons according to the official report from UKZUZ from December 1st. This production is 57.2 % higher (by 2.545 tons) in comparison to a very low 2022 crop.
