August 20th, 2018 CISTA publised final figures of a hop acreage in the Czech Republic. In comparison to the figures published in April 2018, the figures show only tiny changes by 6 ha in the final acreage.
Bohemia Hop together with Pilsner Urquell from ASAHI group organized several traditional harvest events. Representatives of the brewery and ASAHI group had carried out an inspection of a state of hop plants and pre-harvest quality of hop cones. Afterwards, they visited a headquater of Bohemia Hop and Chmelarstvi, cooperative Zatec. They wieved a processing plant and cooled storages of the Cooperative. Apart from their official program, they found a gap in a schedule to visit the Hop Museum in Zatec (SAAZ), the largest worldwide.
Ambassadors and the Tapsters of Pilsner Urquell from all over the world visited Dittrich´s farm in Lenesice, Saaz region. Bohemia Hop traditionally joined and participated in this event. Participants were introduced with the process of cultivating and harvesting hops. Afterward, the traditional competation in a hand picking of Saaz hops took place. Everybody enjoyed this awesome days. We believe this event is going to take place even next year.

The first farmer´s bales have been stored in a cold storehouse of Chmelarství, cooperative Zatec. Krupicka Farm from Saaz Region, delivered the first hops from ongoing harvest from hop gardens located in Kozejedy.
Chmelarstvi, cooperative Zatec, has a capacity of its cold storage to store the hops of entire 2018 crop.
The first farms in the Saaz hop growing region started with a hop harvest last week. The harvest will start in full during this week. SAAZ hops are traditionally the first harvested variety. A cold storage of CHMELARSTVI is ready for receiving a new crop.
Representatives of Czech and Japanese Breweries traditionally carried out an inspection of a state of Czech hops and farms. The first lots of hops form 2018 crop should be deliverd to our cold strehouse in the next few days.
Bohemia Hop together with Chmelarstvi, cooperative Zatec organized for Czech growers a trip to Japan. The growers had a chance to get to know the traditionally biggest market of Saaz hops around the world.
The growers had an opportunity to visit warehouses of Kirin Brewery in Yokohama and Suntory Brewery in Kjoto, Japanese hop processsing line and hop gardens of Kirin Brewery. Moreover, the growers visited two famrs in Iwate region located in the north of Japan.
The growers were warmly welcomed. They could find out a respectability of Saaz hops in Japan.
