According to the report from The Central Institute for Supervising and Testing in Agriculture (CISTA/UKZUZ) from December 2021, the total hop production reached 8 306 tons in the Czech Republic in 2021. This is the highest production since 1996, but 25 years ago the hop acreage was 9 355 ha compare to 4 971 ha in 2021.
The total hop production in the Saaz hop region was 6 358 tons, which is 76,5 % out of the total production. In the Auscha hop region the production was 998 tons, which is 12,0 % out of the total hop production and in the Tirschitz hop region the production reached 950 tons (11,5 % out of the total production).

Following the successful project "Smart hopyard" which cover more than 50 locations in the Czech hop regions with small meteo-stations we have actively entered the next part - the FOR HOPS project.

The project is led by Pilsner Urquell, Asahi, Microsoft and Agritecture and on behalf of the CHMELARSTVI and BOHEMIA HOP suppliers of hops there are 3 farms in the project - Louzek from Obora, Lupofyt from Chrastany and Zem-Invest from Mutejovice, all in the Saaz hop region. The most modern technologie shall assist hop growers to monitor precipitation, moisture and content of nutrients in the soil in the individual hop fields.

Bohemia Hop (BH) together with the Hop Research Institute (HRI) organized the 23rd year of a traditional seminar focused on the use of Czech hops varieties in brewing. This year's seminar, which took place on the grounds of HRI on 23^rd June, was a bit specific. After a one-year break that was forced by an epidemiological measure in response to Covid-19, it was one of the first professional and social events from the brewing environment which we could organize. Participants appreciated the opportunity to meet other brewers and practitioners after a long time and to discuss their experiences. In addition to the tasting of prepared beers from the Experimental Brewery of the HRI, brewed by the brew-master Jan Hervert, the 2nd year of the Kazbek Cup 2021 tasting competition took place, during which participants evaluated the samples sent to the competition.

The Czech Republic was presented as a beer country, and raw materials (hops, malt), technologies, as well as Czech beer, were introduced to the visitors.

Due to the current restrictions on traveling during the pandemic situation, Bohemia Hop was represented by its long-term partner who communicated the information about Czech Hop Industry and introduced our hop products to all visitors. Bohemia Hop Co. represents a very important part of Czech hops´ export to China in the long term.

The Czech Republic was represented by the general consul in Shanghai, Mr. Karel Srol, and by the economic consul Mr. Lukas Svatek.
Several Czech breweries were represented during the event. Visitors had a unique opportunity to taste beers like Pilsner Urquell, Budweiser Budvar, Zubr, Holba, Litovel (Breweries of PMS Group) and Zamecky pivovar Albrecht as a representant of the Craft branch. We would like to thank the Czech Consulate for a very close cooperation and support.
