Central stitute for Supervising and Testing in Agriculture (CISTA) announced the final crop results for 2014. The total hop harvest in the Czech Republic reached 6.202 t of hops. The average yield was 1,39 t/ha.
The total production was up by 872 t compare to 2013 and by 1 864 t compare to 2012.
Representatives of Czech growers that participated in meeting: Mgr. Zdeněk Rosa, Ing. Petr Palán a ing. Michal Kovařík.
Bohemia Hop participated in the Brau Beviale 2104 in Nürnberg. Many participants visited our new booth where they could taste beers brewed exclusively for this event. There were following beers on tap:
1. Lager 12,4° Plato; Agnus variety (1st hop addition) + Sládek variety (2nd hop addition) + Kazbek (3rd hop addition)
2. Lager 12,2° Plato; Saaz variety (pellets for 1st addition) + Saaz variety (green hops for 2nd and 3rd hop addition)
3. IPA 14,3° Plato; Premiant (1st hop addition) + Sladek (2nd hop addition) + Kazbek (3rd hop addition) + Kazbek (dry hopping - pellets; whole leaf hops; green hops)
All visitors enjoyed our beers and hospitality at our booth.

23.8. – Hand Picking Championship 2014 in Prilepy under the patronage of Pavel Zítek, the head brewer of Gambrinus from SABMIller group
26.8. – European Ambassadors of Pilsner Urquell with Mr. Abraham visited Dittrich´s farm in Lenesice, Saaz region. Participants were competing in hand picking.

28.8. – Czech Ambassadors of Pilsner Urquell were introduced with the process of harvesting Saaz hops. The also competed in hand picking and enjoy hospitality on Dittrich´s farmin Lenešice
The esteem in which the Czech hop producers holds Saint Lawrence as their patron is seen in the fact that almost all Czech growers from all three Czech regions (Saaz, Auscha, Tirschitz ) gather every year in order to celebrate his feast. Each of the regions helds own celebration. BOHEMIA HOP and CHMELARSTVI support and participate in these feasts in order to pay tribute to Saint Lawrence and support Czech growers in their activities.
The general meeting of Chmelařství, družstvo Žatec and a general meeting of Bohemia Hop, a.s. took place on 11th June 2014 in Žatec (Saaz). The participants elected a new board of Chmelarstvi and Bohemia Hop, a.s. Both companies have the same members of the board. All members have been elected for a 5-year executive period.
