January was characterized by below-average temperatures and a persistent snow cover that lasted into February, giving the winter a typical character. The average temperature for the first quarter reached 1.3 °C, which is 0.3 °C below the long-term average. The coldest month was January, with a deviation of −2.6 °C from the norm. In contrast, February was warmer, with a deviation of +1.2 °C compared to the long-term average and +4 °C compared to the previous year.
The Central Institute for Supervising and Testing in Agriculture (CISTA/ÚKZÚZ) published, as of April 30, the latest data on the status of hop harvest areas by individual varieties and hop-growing regions.
As of April 30, 2026, the total registered hop harvest area in the Czech Republic amounts to 4,786.0 hectares. Compared to the previous update from August 2025, there has been a slight decrease in the harvest area by 0.53%, while the cultivation structure remains stable in the long term. On April 9, 2026, the 28th annual seminar Application of Czech Hop Varieties in Brewing took place at the premises of the Hop Research Institute in Žatec, including the Bohemia Hop Cup tasting competition.

On March 20–21, 2026, the General Assembly of the Czech-Moravian Association of Microbreweries took place in Zvíkov alongside the prestigious tasting competition „Spring Prize of Czech Brewers“. Bohemia Hop, a long-standing supporter and contributing member of the association, once again actively participated in this important event and supported its organization.
On March 25, 1991, BOHEMIA HOP, a.s. was officially registered in the Commercial Register.
According to the company’s founding charter dated March 18, 1991, its mission was to make a significant contribution to the prosperity of Czech and Slovak hop growing—primarily through the efficient sale of hops on both global and domestic markets, the introduction of progressive methods in hop cultivation and processing, and the provision of modern machinery, technologies, fertilizers, and crop protection products through imports.
